It's not that she takes them off because they're uncomfortable--usually, she's more comfortable with them on than not--but because they're not something that people like touching their bare skin intimately. She took them off with her boyfriend and more or less had assume she would now too. But they take a couple minutes to unhook and she'll deal with that later.
But when he mentions the chair she grins. It is kind of prime for alternative uses. "It's a kneeling chair," she says. "And it does. Sit in it, I'll show you the easiest way." It's basically the lotus position, because they will be facing, and depending on how far back he rocks he might not even have to hold her weight.
