As with Jay and Sunshine, he doesn't ask about Noriko's scars. He doesn't pretend he doesn't see them; more like he sees them as simply a part of her, of who she is now. But how she got them is her business and her choice if she wants to tell him. And besides, her inhibition is beautiful in and of itself.
He flicks the switch on the device and it stills. He holds it up in his fingertips.
"Airplanes. Automobiles. Powerful machines called laptop computers. And then there's the pocket-sized, battery-operated vibrator. Fucking genius. What a time to be alive."
He gets up, and he toes off his boots and shrugs off his suspenders, before pressing the gadget into her (bare) hand, stepping close to her.
"How about you try it on me and see how I respond?"
