oom: curl up and dye

Noriko is found on the floor in her room, lying on the comfortable moss-and-rock-and-pond patterned rug in the late Milliways afternoon sun, surfing internet images. It's about time she got her undercut re-done, and she should consider colors and designs. It's just one of those things, usual upkeep for constantly changing hair: there are, too, pages up for vinyl headphone skins, clothing and fashion, among other things.

She also has the Hamilton soundtrack going--the CD case lying beside the laptop with scribbled signatures all over the cover design--and her headphones over her ears, blocking out most noises but the music.

Time for relaxation.

"Not too much shorter, just a little more." He grinned at her, and smirked. "I'm game." He rolled one shoulder.

"Looking like you would be fun, to me."

Noriko swatted his hip playfully. "I think you're a little too tall, and a little too male to pull it off convincingly," she says. "Remember all those women throwing themselves at you at that party you took me to? Remember how they were not thrilled with your choice of mouthy mutant Japanese girl with blue hair as a fiancee?"

Nori isn't clear, exactly, on what they expected Remy to choose as an alternative, but the point still stands. "Maybe we should go traveling sometime. Things...are kinda quiet now. Nothing big has happened lately for us. It could be a sign." Could be. She won't say she's ready to get settled down and have kids or anything, but...some time with her future husband might be nice.

"True. Ah well." He listens to her and nods. "I was not too thrilled with them, by that point, and was very... blunt by the end of it." He smiles at her, eyes dancing, something like anger in them.

"Don' like it when people make aspersions to the woman I love." He nods.

"I like that. We could wander to some odd place here or there. Australia, or New Zealand, or Moscow, even."

"New Zealand would be awesome. I mean, I've seen it in the movies and all, never been there. But it looks so pretty."

She squeezes his hand. "I remember you telling off one bottle blonde with some interesting words, yeah. You're nicer than I was, I told one of them she could shut her damn mouth or I'd knock her on her ass." That was fun.

"After hearing Hannibal talk about Italy it might be cool. I mean, I'd have to wait to be able to afford it, and it's a little out there for me. Being not at all classical."

"I've been there, but only once, as a kid, and only for a very brief time. A conference. I would love to see more of the place." He nods, thinking it could be fun.

"I like it when you tell them what for." He smirks. "Makes me hot." And it did. He loved seeing her spirit and her defending herself, though not her having to.

"Eh. I don't think Most of Italy is classical. I mean, the buildings are, but most of the people are as modern as you or I."

"We should go, then," she says, and snorts. "Everything makes you hot. I think horny might be your middle name."

Noriko finds it funny.

Remy chuckles. "No, you make me horny, no matter what you do, and some things make me more so."

Still, he grabbed his jacket and nodded. "Let's go."

"One day you'll explain to me how," Noriko laughs. "Since half the time I'm not even doing anything."

Remy shrugged. "S'easy. I find you incredibly sexy and attractive. Both body and mind, and spirit, too. Sometimes, a smile, a laugh, or you saying something that is particularly you, that just pushes my buttons."

he grinned at her. "I don't just love you, Noriko. I am in lust with you, too."

"Ah, so it's just a natural state of being," she laughs, turning neatly mid-step and completing the twirl to keep going, heading down the sidewalk--it was a short drive to the city. "Well then, horny away."

Remy watched her, grinning, and shaking his head. "Yes, ma'am. Hornying as well as I can, ma'am." He chuckled as he followed her.

Every day he was with her, a new joy was brought to life, and he found himself grinning so wide his cheeks might split, and he wouldn't care. he'd never been so happy in all of his life.

"I'm sorry, but isn't it usually Scott's bony ass you're addressing with that kind of smartassery?" Noriko replies, grinning widely right back. "You're already getting the unicorn attitude."

She likes it. "So shadow roots and opal, final decision?"

Remy laughed. "Fearless leader that he was, Scott was always willing to banter as well. And I love that you will too." He smiled at Nori, eyes aglow brighter for a moment.

"I like it. Yes. Final decision. No need to phone a friend."

"Alright then," she says, nose wrinkling. "Let's go investigate cuts, and I'll dye yours when we get back."

"Sounds good to me. Lead on, sexybutt." he winked at her and walked with her, smiling, feeling quite content with her.

As the haircuts were completed--and Noriko's newly shorter all over, though she'd chickened out of getting a real pixie--she kept playing with the fine black fuzz left on one side of her head where she'd gotten a sidecut as well. It left her with chin-length blue tresses, the back and low side of her part grown out black where a chrysanthemum design was shaved in.

"You know, I like it on you. The spiky look could work," she said; Remy's hair was short and artfully tousled into vague points. "Especially with the dye."

Remy chuckled, one hand reaching out to tease through her hair and stroke her scalp. "I happen to like your cut too." he grinned at her.

He hip-bumped her and nodded. "And I am hoping you'll still like ti once it is dyed."

"Pretty sure I'll still like it if it's on you," Noriko said, reaching her arm around his waist as they walked. "It's...kind of drastic, but I'm trying to remember it's just hair."

She'd done good, and hadn't freaked out when half her head was shaved, though Noriko didn't much like having super short hair: without much in the way of a 'womanly' body she depended on other things to give her a feminine appearance.

Remy planted a kiss on that head of hers. "'M'proud of you, chere'." She really had been good. And he loved her body. He still thought she had an amazing one.

One hand wandered downwaard and fondled her rear as they walked. He grinned. Definitely liked it.

"Hey!" she laughed as he groped her, leaning into his shoulder and tugging on a little lock of hair. "Watch your hands, loverboy. We're getting stared at." She wanted to get to the shop for the dyes and products and back without much hassle.

Remy sighed. "Yes, ma'am." he leaned against her and smiled. His hands wandered away and behaved as they walked on.

"You ass just draws me, always."

"I know," she says. "But you gotta wait until later to explore it. It'll be a short trip from here, okay?"

It was indeed a short walk to the supply store where Noriko bought dye, developer, peroxide, and brushes and bowls enough to do both their colors. She wouldn't be lightening all of hers again, but dyeing the roots darker blue so they'd grow out and look good, and maybe doing the shaved side purple. It could be fun.

"I don't know how I ended up with you," Nori said softly in front of the door, before she opened it. "But I'm glad I did."

"I know. I'll be good." he grins and walks with her, asking questions about the different items, and how they worked.

He likes her plans and tells her so, then smiles softly. "I'm glad, too. I often ask myself why you like me, and while I don't know, I am very glad of it." he kisses her gently.

"Why do I like you?" she asks, as if unsure why he needs to ask.

"Because you make me laugh, and you treat me like a sane adult, not some dumbass kid, or just cannon fodder for the real fighters," Noriko explains. "You make me feel desirable in whatever, the clothes, the hair, whatever I look like at any given point. You get what it's like to be one of us. You get everything."

Remy smiles softly and wraps his arms around her for a long moment, stopping and just kisses her.

"I love you, Noriko."

Just that. She was fucking amazing.
