Leading Remy through the door, the bedroom was small and traditional, a nearly floor-level bed separated from a seating area by a semi-transparent paper screen wall. "I know what it means," she said, faintly amused. "I took French in school. I just finished it on my own."

She had a lot of being not enough, quite enough to last her a considerable while.

Noriko turned back for the kiss, and smiled more fully, letting her eyes shut. "I know. I kinda figured if you had been you'd have it already." She made no secret of being easy: there was after all a reason they'd roomed her with the most conservative girl at the school in hopes of taming her a little, at least tempering some of her habits. It hadn't worked.

"There's no joy brighter than having a partner who is worth having."
